Jill’s Last Day

My co-worker and good friend Jill finished up her time at Iowa Central on Friday. She will be a high school secretary and only have to drive 10 minutes to work instead of 40 and also have summers off. So it will be a great move for her and her family, but I’m sad to see her go, defiantly going to miss her!!

I made a new recipe for her last day, Raspberry Ginger Cheesecake Bars!DSC03998

We also celebrated by getting pedicures together!!!DSC03999

Mine & Jill’s toes!! We just happened to wear the same sandals!DSC04000

The flowers they did on Jill’s toes were SO cute!!DSC04003

This is the card I made for Jill!

Show Us Your Life Friday – Wedding Dress

Kelly over at “Kelly’s Korner” (one of my new favorite blogs!!) hosts this every week and I wanted to participate this week because I loved my wedding dress!!

Kyle and I got engaged on our 5 year “dating” anniversary. I bought wedding magazines the very next day! And I picked my dress out of the magazine. Loved it at first sight!! I tried on a ton of other ones before I got to try the one I picked out and none of them had “one thing” that I wanted. And after Christmas I finally got to try on the dress from the magazine I picked out and it was PERFECT! So I ordered it that day!

It was halter and had a lot of beading and lace on the top and then gradually faded out towards the middle and then had a ton of lace and beading on the bottom. I love this dress!! Its safely stored away in a box right now and I can’t wait to get it out for “just the right occasion”….say an anniversary or maybe my daughter to wear someday!! :)  (only if she wants to though!!)wedding

Evening w/Family

My sister Stefanie is here from Georgia for a few weeks so we’ve been spending lots of time with family! Loving it! Tuesday night we had Casey’s pizza at Mom’s house and just sat around and visited. It was a nice time! Abby even got to come along for the evening!

Look at those storm clouds rolling in over Otho!!!

Abby loves car rides! She likes to look out the window and also sniff the vents! She’s a good lil passenger, although I think somehow they need to invent doggie seat belts ‘cause if we crashed I don’t think my reflexes are good enough to grab her!

Tomorrow’s Friday!!!

Arianna

When we were in Chicago for Melanie and Steve’s wedding we got to meet our niece Arianna, this is Kyle’s sister’s little girl! She just turned 1 in April! She is super cute and lots of fun! We both wished we lived closer to see this adorable little girl more. But there are some talks of visiting her, she lives in Colorado!IMG_0326.jpg picture by Arianna_Nichole

Well if you know me, you know that I love to shop for “little” clothes so I couldn’t resist the opportunity to spoil my little niece!! So I picked up a few things at my favorite store, Baby Gap, made a “girly” card, and shipped them to mountain country! Arianna we hope to enjoy the few little outfits! Can’t wait to see you again! :)

Fiesta!

Saturday evening Kyle, Chad (our neighbor), and I went to Tres Amigos here in FD for another neighbor’s birthday party! They are a fun couple we just got to know this summer! Robbye and Mel are their names and they have 2 little boys, Diego and Mateo who are a ton of fun! Robbye is from El Salvador. He was a foreign exchange student to Pomeroy Palmer and ending up meeting Melanie and they got married in 2005 and now they’re our neighbors! :)

Little did we know, they had a “hollywood” theme for Robbye’s party and everyone was SUPER dressed up! They still let us in though in our jeans & t-shirts!! :p We even got to walk the red carpet…too bad the boys were ready for the picture!

Robbye is HILAROUS!! Can you tell?!?!

All of the girls at the party!

Afterwards we met up with our friends Mark and Jenna for some ice cream and some fun times in the garage, but I left my camera at Mom’s house so I didn’t get any pictures. :( Maybe I can get some from Jenna!

My sister Stef, from Georgia, is here for a few weeks so I am quite excited about getting in some quality sister time! Hope everyone has a great week!

Saturday with my Momma!

I headed to Dayton on Saturday to check out a friend’s garage sale. And decided instead of rushing back to FD to stop at my Mom’s house! I think it was a great surprise for her. Luckily, her and Duane were home!

We spent the morning riding bikes, looking at all her gardening, did some cleaning, and went for lunch with Duane at the Country Club. It was a nice quite Saturday morning and some great mother-daughter time! And she didn’t send me home empty handed…I got some squash from her a garden and some sweet corn! Thanks Mom!DSC03904

When we rode our bikes to lunch and I wanted to take the back way to see Lake Ole. Grampo used to always take Wendi and I there and we would grill hot dogs and throw rocks in the waterfall! Fun memories!! And come to find out Mom didn’t even know  Grampo did that wish us…so it was fun to tell her about it!

Afternoon with Sara and Emma

My good friend Sara and her 4 month old little girl, Emma came down to Fort Dodge for the afternoon. Sara wanted to run a few errands and I watched Emma at my house while Sara got her stuff done! It was so fun! We went on a walk and that put Emma to sleep and then came in and played for a while. She is just so smiley!! I gave her a bottle, burped, and changed her and Sara was back from her errands!DSC03891

Then we headed up to Humboldt for a district softball game (Sara’s hometown team was playing). It was fun to catch up with Sara and spend time with Emma. We say this all the time, but I sure wish we lived closer than an hour!

I had a few things I had been “collecting” for Emma since I had seen them last! I told Sara Emma is like my niece, because I always considered Sara the 5th sister in my family!! :)

I saw these bibs on a fellow blog a few weeks ago and had to order one!! They are just adorable!!! You can find them here.DSC03883 DSC03884

Emma loves things with tags and so picked this up at sale the other day. This lady makes them and is from Cedar Falls. She was super great to work with, I had her make a custom cowboy one for Kim’s lil buckaroo!! So of course Emma needed one too! :) Click here to see her ebay listings and order one!DSC03885

And nothing would be complete without a few new outfits for summer!! DSC03886

Emma has really small feet so I picked up these lil flip flops and they ended up fitting her great! Now to see if she will keep them on her feet and not kick them of!! :) DSC03887

And last, but of course not least, here are a few pictures I snapped of the super cute lil Emma while we were hanging around the house! DSC03893 DSC03894    DSC03898  DSC03900
