I couldn’t resist this sweet little romper from babyGap although I saw a onesie the other day that said “no mistletoe required” which is a little more appropriate considering I love smooching my sweet kiddos cheeks!

Adelyn’s Christmas Program

I was SO excited for Adelyn’s Christmas program this year. She loves to sing so I was thinking she might actually participate this year (opposed to prior years!) but that didn’t happen…
Both sets of grandparents, Great Grandma, Mark & Kathy, and Aunt Mindi were ALL (10 people total!) there to see Adelyn in the program. Her class walked in to go to the stage looking so sweet holding on to a rope they use for walks on a regular basis. I could tell she looked nervous & overwhelmed with all the people, but I just let her do her thing, all while my Mom is nudging me saying “She’s looking for you, wave to her.”. Well I did and that was the worst decision that night. She completely lost it and ran across the room crying. I picked her up and she didn’t move from my lap until after the program (for a rice crispy bar!) I tried to get her to go back up there with her friends and teachers, but she wanted NOTHING to do with it. Yep I have “that” kid! Oh well! There’s always next year and we will never forget this year! I’m really hoping she gets past this painfully shy stage!

This was the only picture I got (afterwards) because I was holding a 30lb toddler the whole night!

Christmas PJs

A fellow blog I enjoy reading, Darci at The Good Life Blog (who happens to have a wonderful name, Ha!), along with a few other bloggers are hosting a PJ party link up. I love, love Christmas PJs so I couldn't resist joining the party! I may have a slight problem, I think each of the kids have 4-5 pairs! Oh well, its the most wonderful time of year, right?!?

Without further ado, here are my sweet littles! Big sissy was "reading" Avery her Christmas book and he wanted to "help"! She wasn't very appreciative on the help though! Ha!

This was the best I could get...which isn't too bad for a 9 month old & 2 1/2 year old! Love these two cuties!

PJs are from the wonderful Ashley at SheShe Made! In fact I ordered enough for the cousins too & we snapped a few pictures at Thanksgiving! Love these 4 silly littles SO much! Crazy to think there will be THREE more next year! (ICYMI, My sister is expecting triplets!)

Surprise!

ICYMI I’ve been a bad blogger & I’m determined to get caught to have our family memories “journal-ed” on our blog!

August 29th I turned 29, my “golden birthday”! Kyle completely outdid himself and threw me an awesome surprise party!

It was a Friday afternoon and as far as I knew the plans were for me to go to my sister’s house to help her get settled (they had recently moved) before family came to town for the long labor day weekend. I got to Mindi’s house and she wasn’t into unpacking or decorating. I was a little irritated ‘cause I cleared my Friday afternoon to help her! Kyle called and wanted to order pizza, which worked ok since Mindi wasn’t into our original plan. We did a little bit and headed to our house. 

We pulled around the corner and I saw a bunch of people standing in my driveway…I was puzzled at first, but quickly figured it out! SURPRISE!!!

Kyle invited our families, friends, co-workers, neighbors, everyone!! It was so fun to walk around and just see who was all there to celebrate with me!

I was a little bummed out that I was in comfy clothes to help my sister & not cute party clothes, but I just wen with it! Also Kyle gets major props. I was home a good part of the AM with sick kiddos who went to the dr 2 different times. Kyle was sweating that I wasn’t going to leave the house! ha!

My good friend, Sara, gave me a super cute IA Hawkeye necklace (Adelyn loves it too!)

I mentioned to a few friends that there were more kids at my birthday party than Adelyn’s 2nd birthday party just a few months before (we only invited family to simplify things)

But all the kiddos sure had fun! Clearly…Hayden was running around in his undies and who needs a swimsuit or trunks…Lily & Trace don’t! Ha!

I had talked with Sara throughout the day about how much I was looking forward to the weekend…it was a 3 day weekend after a LONG week at work, my sisters were coming home, 1st IA football game, lots to look forward to! Little did I know there was a big party in the works! Her Mom even came down to celebrate! Love these ladies!!

And no party would be complete with some of our very most favorite friends, Mark & Kathy! Love them so!

Friends & co-workers, the Bush family! Adelyn & Brody are good lil buddies! She used to call his Bro Bro, it was so sweet…now she says his full name.

Preston & Mindi (the deceiving lil culprits!) and co-worker/friend Linda – her son & I went to elementary/middle school together years ago!

And the 3 most important party people…my favorites!

I know we missed a pictures with a few people, but I’m so thankful for everyone who came out to celebrate with me, means so much! And a huge thanks to my awesome hubby for pulling it off! It was such a fun night…that didn’t end with a  birthday celebration…

My sister & Matt announced their engagement!!!!!!!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better/happier weekend!! Congrats to you guys! can’t wait to help plan and welcome Matt into our family!

Adelyn Is Two!

I can’t believe I forgot to share Adelyn’s 2 year pictures! We use the one & only Ashley Wilkerson! She is amazing and has captured our sweet girl since she was in my tummy! And her is shirt is from, you guessed it, SheShe Made!

To my 2 year old little girl,

To say you’ve been in our lives for over two years now just blows my mind. I can remember the day when we found out we were expecting, seems like yesterday! I cannot imagine live without you. You are a spunky, sweet girl!

You love to play with your babies, read books, color, cook in your “kitchen”,  do puzzles, just to name a few! You love to sit in your pink anywhere chair and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Bubble Guppies, Sophia the 1st, or Doc McStuffins!

You also love to help Mommy in the kitchen too! You hop up on your stool and say “I help”. You are so good to know that the stove/oven is hot and don’t push the limits at all. You like to get the milk out of the fridge when you’re ready for a drink…and bring it to wherever Daddy & I are at. You’re a girl who knows what she wants!

Speaking of…”I do it myself” is a famous saying of yours! So independent! You can put on your own panties, pants, and some shirts. Since I mentioned panties, you have been potty trained since you were 23 months. You do so well. You have an occasional accident when you are too busy playing (its usually when you have a new toy, are playing with friends, something out of the norm, etc). You still wear a pull up at night. As long as long Daddy & I are good about cutting you off liquids at a decent time you usually wake up dry.

You are such a shy lil thing! Anytime someone comes new to our house or in a big crowd (IA football game) you cling to Mommy or Daddy. You will eventually warm up, but it takes you a while. But after we leave whatever shy situation you were in and we’re in the car on the way home you jabber on about it “mommy I went to hawkeye game” etc! Silly girl! You are also sensative & have a tender little heart. If someone scolds you or Mommy or Daddy raise our voice, you usually end up crying!

You are an awesome big sister! You love Avery so much and are always so happy to see him in the morning. You are very sweet & gentle with him. You are also a big helper! You like to help with diaper changes, feeding time, etc!

You talk SO well! Sometimes I forget you’re only 2! A few funny things you say: thumb = scumb, craft = crapf, Avery = Avreey (she gets an extra EEE in there!), Aunt Mindi = Aunt Mini, Aunt Wendi = Aunt Weni, cupcake = cup-ake, teapot = tea-tot, And I’m sure there are more I’m forgetting!

This is what you did an airplane flew over and said “air-pane”!

You had to take a water break…modeling is hard work! ha!

This is what you did when Ashley asked you to put your hands on your hips and dance around! So sweet to see your little personality come out!

My sweet Adelyn, your Daddy & I love you so much and can’t wait to see what this year has in store for you! Just please don’t grow up so fast!

Tired Boy

Avery went through a spurt in September where he just couldn’t stay awake to eat his food! Adelyn never fell asleep in her high chair, so this just makes me giggle!

On September 22nd he even did it twice! I think the reason he was doing this is because frankly he stinks at taking naps! Ha!

My Two Little “Dears”

We had a little photo shoot before daycare this morning. I love dressing my kids up throughout the holiday season!

There aren’t a lot of options to match/coordinate brother/sister. So when I find something this cute I can’t resist! I picked these up at Gap.com not too long ago! You can find them here and here.

And getting a picture of my two sweeties these days isn’t the easiest, they have their own ideas! I love how Avery is looking at Adelyn in the picture on the right! ha!

This is what I saw the majority of the time! BTW, I didn’t even notice the back had “young buck” on the back until I got it in the mail, adorable!!

At least they’re both smiling here! Avery is always trying to escape. I have a feeling I’m in for it with this one…Adelyn has always been so low key. I don’t think Avery will follow suit!

A little “tickle, tickle” got them to sit there and earned some big smiles for just long enough to snap a picture! Sure do love my sweet lil dears! (get it? Ha!)
