Elizabeth’s Baby Shower

On Friday me, my Mom, my sister Mindi, and our cousin Toni all packed in the car and headed north to Wisconsin for my cousin Elizabeth’s baby shower. She is due June 4th! It was SO great to see her. She is the most beautiful pregnant girl I’ve seen and is just glowing!! They are expecting a boy!! Can’t wait to meet my newest cousin!!

Toni insisted on stopping at McDonald’s for supper on the way to WI. Of course she wanted to get some fun time in the “play place”!!

Last, but not least, here is one with some of the WI cousins! We had lunch with them on Sunday before hitting the road to come home. It’s always so good to see them and how much their families have grown!!

Wait, one more thing, we saw this giant chicken on the side of the road on the drive home! So of course I had to take a picture…totally random! :)

Third Base Fun!

For the past few months Kyle & I along with my sister Mindi and her husband Preston and Preston’s brother Nate and his wife Kylie have been getting together on Wednesday's nights at Third Base in downtown FD for 50 cent tacos and $1.50 margaritas!! We have really enjoyed our new tradition…well last week a TON of people came!! Probably over 20…we took up a whole side of the restaurant!! It was a fun night !!

Happy Mother’s Day

 

After all the guests left the shower on Saturday we went out for Mother’s Day with a bunch of Kyle’s family (parents, grandparents, siblings) to a local family style restaurant for a buffet. These are the flowers we got my Mom B! Aren’t they gorgeous?!?! The picture of Kyle & I with Mom B on the bottom just totally cracks me up!! Love it!! :)

 

We celebrated Mother’s Day with my Mom on Sunday after church. We went to Starlite for brunch and it was a FULL HOUSE, we had to wait for an hour for a table. But boy, was it worth it! Everything was AMAZING!! They had both a breakfast buffet and a full lunch buffet!! Too much food!! But we had a wonderful time with my Mom and Duane. We don’t see them as much as we would like to and they only live 30 minutes away! And the other thing is that I forgot to take a picture with my Mom. :( But I had to put one up, so here is one from my wedding!

Melanie & Steve’s Shower

Saturday we hosted Kyle’s sister Melanie and her fiance Steve’s bridal shower at our house. I was a tad nervous about fitting everyone in the house! But it worked out perfect! We had about 30 guests total and Mel & Steve got lots of great gifts!
Mom B took care of all the food for the shower. She had angel food cake with fresh strawberries and ice cream with topping choices of oreos, M&Ms, and cookie dough bits! It was a great spread! Oh and I made a rice krispie log too!

The Happy Couple!

If you can’t see the colors in the blanket, they are green, yellow, & purple! Mel is a Vikings fan and Steve is a Packers fan!! I thought that was such a fun gift idea and a great conversation piece!

Mel even had two of her high school friends come for the shower! It was fun to listen to them catch up! One is still in the area and has a little boy! He was sleeping away in his carrier while we were snapping pics! Oh and I had to get a picture of these flowers I got at Hy-Vee. They are such bright pretty colors! Love having fresh flowers and the shower was the perfect “excuse” to get some!!

Abby turns 2!!!

Today marks Abby’s 2nd birthday!! Happy Birthday! We picked up a few “special” things for her today!

	She ended up getting a new toy…one hopefully that she won’t rip to shreds!! She may be cute…but boy does she sure shred any sort of toy you give her!	Check out those teeth…she’s ferocious!
	And she also got some new treats that she devoured! :)

Well Kyle thinks so at least! This afternoon at work one of the secretaries brings in this beautiful bouquet of springy flowers!

I really like this one!! Unexpected flowers are the best way to get them!! Thanks hunnie!!! :)  

This was one of the “filler” flowers (in my words anyway!)…I love the detail!! Amazing to think that God created it and thousands of other flowers that are completely different!

What a way to start my weekend! I hope everyone else has a FABULOUS Friday night!! We don’t have much on the agenda and that is a-okay with us!

Abby hits puberty?!?!?

I called Kyle quick today while I was at work for a question and after we talked for a bit he was laughing and talking to Abby. I could tell it was something funny, but that she had done something wrong! So I asked what and Kyle said that I would just have to wait to come and it see!

So when I got home this is what I found….

Yep that is a tampon on the bottom right corner!

She even found a panty liner!

And here is where we found most of the evidence. I keep a large ziploc baggie in my gym bag and I guess Abby thought she hit the jackpot!

And if you are familiar with our house…the previous picture was taken in our office. And I found this one in Abby’s chair in the living room…quite a ways away!

Another one I found on another chair in the living room! Kyle and I were laughing out loud walking around find all these “female supplies”!!! LOL :)

And last, but not least she also managed to get my laufa (sp?) out of my gym bag too and give a good chew over.

This little dog NEVER ceases to amaze it. But boy does she bring joy to our lives! We love her…even though she tends to be a little naughty!
