Easter Weekend

We had a nice Easter weekend spent with both families. I had Friday off work and did my spring cleaning….washed the inside & outside of the windows, cleaned the window sills, swept & vacuumed the floors, dusted the kitchen, living room, & office. The only rooms I didn’t get to were the guest room and our bedroom. Hopefully I can work on those this week.

Saturday I got my hair cut (check out my previous post) and then we went to Pocahontas to Mom & Dad B’s for supper. Mom B is such a great cook…we had pork loin on the rotisserie, cheesy potatoes, corn, homemade dinner rolls, brownies & ice cream for desert. Mmmm!!

This is the only picture I got all night though! Kyle wanted to just eat it right off the bar…ha ha!! :) Don’t worry…he didn’t! 

After dinner we played some cards and chatted for a while. Abby always likes to visit their house and check it out. This time she made it down to the basement somehow and came back up with a dirty little face!

Sunday morning was church. Kyle wasn’t feeling the best so we rushed home afterwards so he could get a nap in before we headed down to my Mom’s house for lunch.

I used my gorilla pod & self timer though and got a quick picture of us all dressed up!

When I came out of the bathroom Abby was just sitting on the bench where we had taken our picture acting like she was waiting her turn. So of course I had to get one of her!! Isn’t she so cute?!?!?

We headed down to Mom’s. It was so fun to see her new kitchen, living room, bathroom, and office. But she said since two of my sister’s hadn’t seen it yet I couldn’t post the pictures!

Here is Mom setting the Easter table. It looked very nice…Daune & her even dyed eggs, had Easter napkins, and Peeps at everyone’s place! Good job Duane! This is her old living room/new formal dining room. It was so nice to have lots of space to fit around her nice, big new table! 

Maya (Mom & Duane’s Granddaughter) wanted me to take her picture. She is so fun and VERY smart for a 3 year old.

Kyle and I finished off the night on the couch crying while watching Marley and Me! It was such a great movie and if you’re an animal lover it will definitely make ya cry!!

New Hair

Hey everyone! I got the “itch” to cut my hair and this past Saturday I did it!! I ended up taking 10 inches off!! And I LOVE it!! I went to a new person so that made it a little extra nerve racking, but she was awesome and I think I will be going back to her!!

 

BEFOREAFTER

New toilet lid costs $200…???

Doesn’t sound right does it? Well for us needing a new toilet lid we thought would be a quick fix. I picked up the cheapest one at Target…$5.99! And as Kyle was taking the old one off the whole toilet cracked. :( I was in the living room and I hear him say from the bathroom “we’re going to menards”. Oh I’m not a fan of those words! So we headed off and picked up our new toilet. And yep with taxes and a few other parts it was right at $200. Now I wish we would have just lived with our other toilet seat.

Florida!

Hey everyone! I spent the past week in Florida with my three sisters and my Grandpa aka Grampo! It was a great time and I’m missing the warm Florida sun!
I flew down on Wednesday March 18th…which happened to be Grampo’s 75th birthday! Stef drove down from Georgia on Thursday. Mindi flew from Iowa on Thursday and drove with Wendi from Lakeland on Friday after Wendi was done with class. We had a fun filled few days of bike riding, shopping, reading, lounging on the beach, tennis playing, and just chatting!
Grampo fixed up a bunch of bikes so that we would all have one to ride! Here is him and Stef ready to ride! But Grampo didn’t want to wear a helmet.

Stef & I both brought our tennis rackets. I haven’t played much so Stef showed me the ropes and we got a couple games in while we were down there.

And here I am pointing out the spare tennis balls in my pockets. Stef said that is how the pros do it!

Friday night when Wendi & Mindi got to Grampo’s house we went out to eat at Outback Steakhouse to celebrate Grampo’s 75th birthday! So here are a few sister pictures I snapped over dinner.  

I used the self timer on my camera and got one of all of us. It’s not the best…but it’s the only one I got of all 5 of us over the trip.

It’s nice to be able to have a house to stay at while in Florida rather than a hotel room. So we totally took advantage of Grampo’s kitchen. Stef made bbq chicken pizza one day and it was SO good! And even WW friendly! Good job Stef!

Wendi has these fake glasses that she wore one night when we went out for Mexican. So I had to get a picture to see what  I looked like in them! Not quite as cute as Wendi! Wendi looks much better! :) Mindi and I…out for Mexican! It was so good…reminded us of our favorite local spot…Lomitas! EXCEPT…you didn’t get unlimited free chips and salsa…had to pay for them…dang!

Happy Birthday Travis & Laura

Saturday was Travis & Laura’s (Kyle’s twin brother & sister) 22nd birthday! Hard to believe they are that old already! That means I’m getting old! Ha ha!

Mom B made her famous homemade pizza for supper. Grandma & Grandpa DeWall came out and we all ate together and played some card games and of course had cake & ice cream! It was a fun evening with family!

Kyle & Travis were messing around on their laptops. Kyle was showing Travis where he could watch music videos so I quick snapped a picture when Travis was busting a move!!

Oh and do you like his jacket? That is what Kyle & I got him for his birthday!!

This is while we were playing cards. I can’t remember what the game was called…it’s a fun one we always play at the Bangerts, but Laura was trying to “read” David’s (Travis’ friend & roommate) face to see if she could figure out if she wanted to trade cards or not! 

Abby came to Poky to help celebrate too! I think she likes to visit the Bangert house!
