Nursery Reveal

I finally feel ready to say that I’m ready for Baby Boy to make his arrival. We didn’t quite get the early start that we did on Adelyn’s nursery, but it still came together and I’m happy with how it turned out!
IMG_4330
We purchased a silent auction item last fall for a local painter to paint the nursery. I set it up in December and he wasn’t able to come paint until mid-January. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was starting to get nervous. Up until that time the nursery was still serving its prior purpose of a guest room. We chose a light gray for the walls from Sherwin Williams called “Amazing Gray”. On the paint sample it looked more tan, but on the walls it’s the perfect light gray!
IMG_4331
You will see from these pictures that Baby Boy’s nursery has two doorways. You can either access his room via the hallway where our bedroom & Adelyn’s are {it’s a pocket door to the hallway} or there is also a doorway right off the kitchen. Not the most ideal option, but it was our only remaining bedroom. It is the largest bedroom of the three in our house though!
IMG_4333
Kyle replaced all the baseboard & casing in the room from the original honey oak trim to a nice crisp white trim! He also replaced the closet doors. The old ones were 2 large doors that only allowed you to see half of the closet at a time. We purchased white bi-fold doors and are very happy with the result. Kyle and his Dad did a great job installing them!
IMG_4338
I had a hard time finding/deciding on curtains. I ended up finding an orange panel curtain at Hobby Lobby for only $11.99 {after using the 40% off coupon}. The windows in his room are short and directly above the vent, so I knew I didn’t want floor length curtains. Now I am NOT a sewer AT ALL, but thankfully Kyle’s Mom is, so I had her cut the panel in half and hem it. Worked out great!
IMG_4337
The dresser was mine growing up. My Mom gave it to us to use in the nursery. Kyle and I had perfect weather over Thanksgiving break to re-finish the dresser {using this tutorial here}. Check out the before picture {the only one I remembered to take}:

And here’s the beautiful after! I was very happy with how it turned out! And Baby Boy’s crib is on loan from my wonderful friend, Sara {they have 3 girls now and still just might need it again!}.
IMG_4334IMG_4335
I chose the patterns for his bedding and the wonderful Holly at Modifiedtot made my vision come to life! She did a perfect job and was so easy to work with. She also made the changing pad cover to match the bumper.
I designed the prints in Publisher. The one above the dresser/changing station is a favorite praise song of mine and the the one above his crib is the verse Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart.”
The frames with orange & aqua were a Hobby Lobby find…I couldn’t believe how perfect they fit in with the nursery!
For the most part, that sums up the tour of baby boy’s nursery. Once we choose a name and get our maternity pictures back I have a few more things in mind I want to do. I’ll make sure to do an update post! Four days from today is this little boy’s due date!

38 weeks

38 weeks, 3 days 2.24.13

How Far Along: 38 weeks, 3 days {2.24.13}

Size of baby: Baby Bangert #2 is the size of a pumpkin

Heartbeat: 160bpm at 38 week appointment

Maternity Clothes: Mainly all maternity! I’ve been trying to layer with some of my regular cardigans & sweaters.

Gender Predictions: It’s a boy!

Movement: He is a busy boy! Sometimes in the mornings my tummy looks a little deformed because of all his movement. I just don’t see how he has room to move so much!

Sleep: I’ve been sleeping pretty well these days, usually only 1 bathroom break per night.

What I miss: When everything in my closet used to fit me and sleeping on my back.

Cravings: Mexican! I have yet to give into that craving too…I’m sure that will change in the next few days!

Symptoms: Some back pain & slightly swollen feet at the of the day.

Best Moment this week: We had snow day at home on Friday and got lots done around the house & in Baby Boy’s nursery. I think I finally feel comfortable saying I’m ready if this boy decides to make his arrival!

We had our 38 week appointment with Dr Olson on Tuesday. Based on the ultrasound I had last week she is estimating Baby Boy to be about 8 1/2 lbs! The ultra sound said he was 7lbs 8oz and I was measuring 2 weeks ahead. I was dilated to 2cm and Dr said he is very low (I could have told her that!). We’ll see what she has to say at my 39 week appointment next week.

Someone insisted on getting their picture taken too…by herself! Such an independent little girl!IMG_4322

Play Date

My good friend, Sara, and her 3 girls (Emma (4), Grace (2), & Josie (7 months)) came down one Friday evening. Sara’s cousin watched her girls while Sara & I went to do some pampering! Sara had a great idea, instead of exchanging Christmas gifts we decided to have a girls night! And it worked out perfect considering reaching my toes these days is a little more difficult than normal! ha!

After our pampering we picked up a pizza and headed back to our house so the girls could have some play time! I’m sure you can tell by the pictures, but they had a great time!IMG_4241

We headed down to the basement after supper. Kyle & the 3 older girls had a good ole time in our “ball pit”!

IMG_4248

Kyle would shake the pool like an “earth quake” and the girls would just laugh & laugh!

IMG_4259

To the girls disfavor the night had to come to an end. Sara & her girls live about an hour away and it was much past everyone’s bed time!

We had to try to get a picture all of them first though…but trying to get 4 girls 4 & under to look at the camera & smile is next to impossible!IMG_4269

IMG_4279

We had an fun time with our friends! Come back & play anytime!

Valentine’s Day

Adelyn had a party at her daycare for Valentine’s Day! Of course she had to be dressed occasion in a cute SheSheMade shirt and some red skinny’s! I sure do love dressing up my little girl! (note: this was early in the AM before daycare…I don’t think she was quite awake yet)

IMG_4310

She had to bring 18 Valentine’s to share with her friends at daycare. Mommy went straight to Pinterest and found this super cute printable here.

IMG_4304

Adelyn LOVES marshmallows (like we have to avoid that section at the grocery store!) and graham crackers, so this Valentine worked out perfect!

IMG_4305

And we can’t forget all her new, wonderful teachers! We have been nothing short of pleased with our experience at her new daycare (she started after the 1st of the year). We wanted to show our appreciation for her teachers who have been so kind & welcoming to us!

IMG_4307

I didn’t get a picture of it, but Adelyn came home with a decorated bag filled with Valentines from all her friends!

Kyle & I kept things low key this year, we said no gifts! I did get him a card and he broke the rules and sent me a flowering plant for my office from him & Adelyn! Hope everyone had a “love filled” holiday!

Cousins Weekend

The weekend before New Years Stef, Lily, and Hayden came to visit. Our cousin Djuana from Wisconsin came down. We all hung out at my cousin Don & Sherawn’s house Saturday evening. IMG_4140

We all made a pot of soup and had more than enough to eat! It was fun to see all the kiddos sitting at the bar, so grown up!

IMG_4146

After supper we took advantage of having the girls together to get a picture of them in another set of their matching Christmas PJs. Getting a picture of these 2 busy girls isn’t easy these days…

IMG_4165

IMG_4163

This is about the best we could get! Not sure what is up with Adelyn & her tongue!

IMG_4156

The boys wanted in the picture too!

IMG_4172

“Mama said don’t take your socks off…I had another idea!” Silly Lily!

IMG_4176IMG_4177

Stef, Lily, & Hayden spent the night at our house that night. Lily didn’t sleep so well and us adults stayed up way too late, so Stef & I stayed home from church and took it easy with the kiddos.

IMG_4184

IMG_4189

Another opportunity to get a picture of the girls in their matching Christmas dresses…again Adelyn with the tongue, silly girl!

IMG_4197

Hayden wanted to take a picture too. I thought it was so cute how he put his arm around Adelyn!

IMG_4204

We tried to get Lily in the picture…but didn’t have a lot of luck. ha!

IMG_4210

Adelyn had to show cousin Hayden all the fun games she plays on Mommy’s phone!

IMG_4211

Lily says, “Look guys, I have a phone too…!”

IMG_4213

“…but Aunt Darci’s look much more fun!”

IMG_4214

We headed up to see Grampo for lunch at his apartment. It was a little “busy” with 3 kiddos, but I think Grampo & all his friends enjoyed the “extras” at lunch. Hayden had to help Grampo un-wrap his Christmas present.

IMG_4216

After lunch at Grampo’s, Stef & the kids hit the road and we had quiet afternoon at home.

31 weeks

31 weeks, 3 days 1.6.13

How Far Along: 31 weeks, 3 days  {1.6.13}

Size of baby: Baby Bangert #2 is the size of a pineapple

Heartbeat: 150bpm at 32 week appointment

Maternity Clothes: Mainly all maternity! I’ve been trying to layer with some of my regular cardigans & sweaters.

Gender Predictions: It’s a boy!

Movement: He is a busy boy! Its fun to watch my tummy dance around when he really gets moving.

Sleep: No complaints in this department, thankfully!

What I miss: When everything in my closet used to fit me and sleeping on my back.

Cravings: Little Debbie Swiss Cake rolls….random!

Symptoms: Unfortunately this baby boy is on my sciatic nerve. Randomly throughout the day I get this shooting pain down my left side. I’ve done a few chiropractic treatments, but nothing has helped.

Best Moment this week: Adelyn started her new daycare and has done SO well! Its like she’s been there this whole time!

And a certain little someone insisted on getting her picture taken…in Mommy’s necklace!
