Bragging rights for the Hawks!

Saturday morning, 5am to be exact, we hit the road to Iowa City for the state rivalry football game between the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones.

We walked around to see a bunch of friends that were down for the game. Look what we found for sale, a Hawkeye motor home!! Too bad it was over $100k!!!DSC08460

Me and a random Herky statue! Like my outfit? My sister asked if everyone dresses ridiculous! lolDSC08463

Kyle and I planned on eating out for lunch. We picked the Vine just a few blocks from the stadium. DSC08470

We loved their decor!DSC08472

Finally game time!!! We were pumped!! It was a great game and we won 35-7!!DSC08478

After the game, we hit the road right away for our 3 hour drive home. Kyle & I listened to comments on the game on the drive home. Hoping to keep the win’s coming!! :)

Garage Sale Finds – Revamped!

Remember these shadow boxes from this post? Well they were a garage sale find and I knew just what I wanted to do with them!!DSC07395

I spray painted the white one black so they would match and used them to display our memorabilia from our first year of races!! This one is from our 1st two 5k’s last year. I also included just a little “blurb” with details about the race!DSC08428

Our basement is already a sports type theme……well ok…it’s all Iowa Hawkeye! I figured our running memorabilia would fit in perfect! And this one is from our first half marathon that we ran together in October 2009!DSC08427

Labor Day

I hope everyone was able to enjoy Labor Day…and have minimal amounts of labor! ;)

After lunch on Sunday my Mom came to town to bring me down to her house...on her motorcycle! We have family in town this weekend and Kyle was going to spend the day doing homework. She lives in Dayton [my home stomping grounds] and there are always lots of festivities Labor Day weekend...rodeo, parade, carnavil, etc!DSC08341   DSC08344

Like my sun burn from the game yesterday? Not only do I have an outline from my sunglasses, but I also have one from my Hawkeye tattoo!DSC08345

When we got down to the rodeo I ran into my jr high BFF, Tawny! We had a great time catching up quick!! [hi tawny!!!]DSC08348

Bull riding is always exciting! I'm always so worried for those guys!!DSC08372

Monday morning we got ready and all headed a few blocks down for the 10am parade!DSC08391

Iowa Hawkeyes vs Eastern Illinois

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great 3 day weekend!! Time off is always welcome!!

When 3:59pm Friday afternoon finally rolled around, I was outta there!! Kyle did homework on the way to Iowa City {3+ hour drive}.DSC08326

And I took pictures….oh wait, I mean, I drove!! ;)DSC08327

Notice we were sporting our Hawkeye polos…special shirts just for Fridays at work!

We met up with Mel & Steve who drove over from Chicago to go to the game with us!! Needless to say we always have fun together!!DSC08328

Long story short, we had a flat tire that took about 4 hours of our night.

Well we got the tire fixed, but Kyle had to put it on first thing before tailgating.  DSC08331

We didn’t have a whole lot of time to tailgate since we had to deal with the tire problem…but we took full advantage of it!! DSC08334

We managed to get in a few games of bag-o, which I’m a little rough at since I haven’t played since last fall!DSC08336

We stopped by to see the band warm up and hit the [flusher] potties! I refuse to use porta-potties while tailgating!IMG00022-20100904-0951

We are so psyched for this fall! Hoping it’s going to be a great season!IMG00023-20100904-0951

It was fun to have Kyle’s sister & her hubby, Mel & Steve,  join us for the game. Their tickets were their bday present from us!! I don’t think they needed a gift receipt! ;)IMG00024-20100904-0952

Finally we made it to the stadium! It was a great game, we won 37-7! Can’t wait for next week…we play our state rivals, Iowa State!IMG00031-20100904-1048

We did a little shopping and decided to hit the road. We each had a 3+ hour drive home!

Unloaded and crashed when we got home!4 hours of sleep Friday night & a big day Saturday meant we were 2 tired Hawkeye fans!
