We celebrated Adelyn’s 1st birthday on Saturday the 16th, 1 year after my original due date! It was a wonderful day filled with good food, family, friends, and fun! I have almost 500 pictures so I’m going to split them up into a few different posts, so make sure to scroll through the blog to see each one!
I had a vision in my head of what I wanted her invites to look like. I sent a bunch of pictures & directions to Kyle’s sister, Laura, and she came up with just what I wanted! Thanks Aunt Laura! We used pictures from her 9 month photo session for the invite. I printed them at vistaprint.com when they were have a 50% sale. A good friend made her owl hat, her shirt is sheshemade.com, and I made the tutu.
A good friend made her owl hat (used in the pictures), her bow she wore at the party is from this etsy shop, her shirt is sheshemade.com, and I made the tutu.
We decided to have her party at our home, in the garage & the patio. It turned out to be a beautiful day {maybe a little hot}!
I got the fabric pennant banner on clearance for a $1 at Target.
Kyle blew up all the balloons with the air compressor and we strung them on fishing line and hung them in between the house & garage. Unfortunately the popped randomly all throughout the party.
I felt like I had a huge undertaking to turn our garage into a fun, girly 1st birthday. But overall, I’m really happy with how everything turned out!
Her cake was from our favorite local bakery, Laritas. I made the tutu from left over tulle from her tutu.
I made the ribbon wreath a while back for her bedroom door and it worked perfect for added party décor. I printed her monthly pictures and strung them on ribbon to display as well.
I displayed her invite in a frame, along with a few canvases that we have around the house.
The desert table! I had so much fun with this! I made the tissue poms and the chevron fabric is from this etsy shop.
Her smash cake & the cookies are also Laritas, I made the dipped pretzel rods & marshmallows. The pink sixlets are from Hobby Lobby, I got the pink gum balls on amazon, the pink & white M&Ms are from Valentines day clearance (we did the same thing for our wedding 7 years ago…and yes they last that long!), and the pink gummy bears & laffy taffy are from candywarehouse.com. The glassware and serving dishes are all either mine or my sister, Mindi’s.
I use this Pinterest idea for the silverware, napkins were $1 Target clearance, the owl print is from zulily.com and I just had my friend write in her name, and the plates, silverware, table cloths & skirts are all from a local party store.
I displayed another canvas above the food table along with happy birthday banner I made. Her canvases are from easycanvasprints.com. Like them on facebook and you get 50% off canvases & free shipping.
We served sliders, hot dogs, brats, baked beans, pasta salad, potato chips, and frozen fruit cups. For drinks we had an assortment of pop, juice boxes, and water.
I’m sure I missed something! If you see something you’re curious about, just ask! And just in case you missed it, here are the other party posts:
