Pumpkin Patch

October 12th we headed to our local orchard to go to the pumpkin patch! We took a short ride in the pumpkin cruiser to the pumpkin patch!

Adelyn was pretty excited! Everything is exciting when you’re 2! ha!

Adelyn was so into checking out all the pumpkins and had NO interest in taking pictures…lil stinker!

And then we had some drama…something in her shoe…oh no!

Someone how Avery ended up with a dirty nose…sure love his sweet smile!

Adelyn picked out the perfect pumpkin for her AND one for Avery too!

No trip to the pumpkin patch is complete without eating some grass…oh my…

Happy Birthday Grandma

October 10th we celebrated my Grandma’s 79th birthday! Isn’t she beautiful!?!?

Mindi hosted the party! (sidenote: her & Preston bought a new house in Aug that is PERFECT for entertaining!)

Sadly I didn’t get much more for pictures, but we had a nice time with awesome food! Happy Birthday Grandma and thanks for hosting Mindi, hope you don’t get sick of it!

Meeting Baby Jordyn

Back in October Kyle and I…very sneaky…went down to KC to meet our wonderful friends’ new baby girl Jordyn when she was just a few days old! I could hardly handle the excitement when I heard the news that she had arrived…we sold our IA football tickets, got a babysitter, hopped in the car, and headed south!

She was everything I anticipated and more. Pure sweetness!!!

To say we are excited for these new parents is an understatement. Parenting is the hardest and at the same time, the best thing we’ve ever done! So excited for you guys to experience it!

Love these 2 girls SO much!! Jordyn is going to be girl-iest girl I know!! No pressure or anything…but I could see an arranged marriage in Avery’s future! Ha!

I made a fun little video of our surprise! Still makes me smile, laugh, and even cry today! Love you Mark, Jenna, and sweet baby Jordyn!

Family Pictures

In September we took family pictures…my WHOLE family! I sure do love all these crazy, silly people!

And this one…oh boy my heart just explodes! Love their sweet lil holding hands!

Cousins are ready made friends for life! So excited that this little bunch will be growing by THREE in 2014!

And those four sweet kiddos are SUPER lucky to have the best Uncle P & Auntie M!! One of a kind couple right there my friends!

I’m so thankful for this sweet, spunky girl and that Adelyn will have a best cousin to grow up with! And of course her wonderful parents too!! Adelyn sure loves her Aunt Stef <3

I don’t think I could love this picture and my sweet family any more…so blessed!

And last, but not least, I’m pretty sure these 3 can always make me laugh…esp that goofball on the end {Hayden…not matt!}. So excited for them to {officially} become a family in 2014!

Other things may change, but we start and end with family. <3

Family: like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.

My sisters remind me, but their very steadfastness, that truth, beauty, and goodness in the world, and that, no matter what there are and always will be loving people. through thick and thin.

There is nothing like God’s blessing of a sister…it is the true definition of a best friend.

I smile because you are my sister…I laugh because you can’t do anything about it!

These four beautiful women are my very best friends. I am blessed to call them my sisters {and Mama!} and I don’t know what I would do without them. They are my rocks, my “go to gals”, and lifelong friends. love you all dearly.

September Randoms

ICYMI I’ve been a bad blogger & I’m determined to get caught to have our family memories “journal-ed” on our blog!

This is from Labor Day weekend at my Grandma Cindy’s house. I thought Aunt Wendi captured the perfect picture of my sweet boy!

We spent quite a few of our Saturdays in the fall in Iowa City cheering on the Hawkeyes!

For the IA vs ISU rivalry game we had a few friends over who also have kiddos around our kids’ age. It was SO fun and the kids had a blast! (oh and the right team won too!)

With summer wrapping up we had to take advantage of our last few nice weekends at the park! I love how Adelyn puts her arm around Avery…at least he doesn’t mind!

We had to make a quick stop at the office store and Adelyn had to potty while we were there. She was SO proud of herself that she could reach the sink!

This is when I decided it was time to move Avery out of his baby bath tub into the big tub…he was trying to crawl OUT of it!!

Adelyn’s 1st IA Football Game

ICYMI I’ve been a bad blogger & I’m determined to get caught to have our family memories “journal-ed” on our blog!

Saturday September 21st Adelyn attended her first Iowa Hawkeye football game! She had been to Iowa City and tailgated a few times last year, but this was the first year she got to in to the game! At first she was a little overwhelmed with all the people & noise (she’s quite shy!).

The majority of Kyle’s family came to this game as well..his sister’s Laura & Mel (and her hubs Steve) and his parents. It was a fun Bangert family day!

We had to check out the drum line before the game…Adelyn was quite mesmerized by them! Oh and it was quite chilly that morning too, hence the gloves!

We headed into the stadium to watch the pre-game and for Adelyn to get acclimated to the craziness that is an Iowa football game!

She quickly warmed up and LOVED finding Herky running all over the football field!

And she knew just what to do when they sand the national anthem…so proud!

We made it to half time and had an “incident”. She was reaching for something under the bleachers and slide down the concrete to the row below. It scrapped her leg pretty bad. I felt SO bad for her! So Adelyn and Mommy hung out and walked around for the 2nd half.

We had some fun shopping…

…and the game got over just in time for her to crash in her carseat on the 3 hour drive home!

It was a fun day with our family! I can’t wait for Saturdays in Iowa City in the fall to be a norm for our family in the years to come!
