Backyard Play Date

The Saturday before Mother’s Day my sister, Wendi, and I had a garage sale. It always feels so good to get rid of stuff! We actually had a really good sale and made almost $600 combined!

After the garage sale some friends stopped by and we had an impromptu play date!

Our friends, Brandon & Brittany, have a little boy, Brody, who is 6 months older than Adelyn and 3 months younger than Hayden. It was fun to watch the 2 boys play together!

Brandon & Brittany are expecting their 2nd boy the end of this month!

Brody & Adelyn loved to play on the slide that Grandma & Grandpa Green brought up a few weeks ago. It was so cute to watch Brody, he would sit down a ways back from the slide and have to scoot to the edge before he’d go down the slide!

Adelyn cheered him on!

Mother’s Day Celebrations

The Monday before Mother’s Day we celebrated at my Mom’s house because my sister Stef was in town from Omaha for a few days.

Stef made a delicious lasagna (Mom’s request) and we all brought a side to share.

I put Adelyn in the bumbo on a chair since Hayden was in his high chair…does it make it look SO big??

And of course the kiddos had some good play time! I should say that Adelyn likes to play with Hayden…but Hayden is too busy for her!

Saturday night (before Mother’s Day) we met up with Kyle’s parents for supper at Sport’s Page, Kyle’s Mom’s pick.

And we finished the night with ice cream at a local favorite ice cream shoppe! (more on that in another post!)

Adelyn was so excited for Mother’s Day that she woke up at 5am Sunday morning! Daddy was so sweet, took care of our baby, and let Mama sleep in!

Kyle & Adelyn got me a very nice card, a gift certificate for 3 half hour massages, and I get to design a Mother’s ring (that can be added to). They certainly spoiled this Mama!

We were planning on going to Des Moines, but Adelyn was so tired after church we ended up staying in town for the day. While she was napping Kyle & I watched The Vow.

I wasn’t set on a certain place for lunch, but knew I wanted to eat outside, it was a beautiful day. Mineral City it was!

It was the perfect spot for an outdoor lunch with my two most favorite people in the world!

We had a low key afternoon and got Papa Murphys for supper (Yay for no cooking!). It was the perfect 1st Mother’s Day spent with the one’s I love most!

The Latest

I had to do a random update of a few little things that Adelyn is up to these days!

If she doesn’t get her way she will lay down and put her head down. Let’s hope this isn’t a sign of a strong willed little girl! We don’t fall for it either…in fact it kind of makes Kyle & I giggle (are we mean?)!

We only have 2 pacifiers at home and are usually really good about keeping track of them. One day we searched HIGH & LOW for that silly little thing and couldn’t find it.

Adelyn knew where it was the whole time! Silly girl!

We haven’t installed the child locks on the cupboards yet and Adelyn takes full advantage of that!

She loves to drag everything out of the cabinets, play with them, and leave a path of destruction!

Adelyn’s 9 Month Pictures

Back in March we had Adelyn’s 9 month pictures taken by the amazing, Ashley Wilkerson. I have loved getting her pictures taken every 3 months, so glad we did the 1st year package!

Thankfully we had a beautiful, warm Saturday morning to get them taken. Without further ado, here are pictures of my gorgeous baby (of course, I’m biased!).

We did take a few more, but I’m using them on her birthday party invitation so you can’t see them…just yet!

I’m Darci, my husband is Kyle, and our 10 month old daughter is Adelyn. Kyle and I have been married for 7 years (this July).
